EUR-OCEANS is a network of excellence with a membership of nearly 500 researchers. The goal of this network, co-funded by the European Union, is to bring together scientists who study the impact of climate change and human activities on marine ecosystems.
A network of European aquariums has also been created to help educate the general public on this subject and on the ongoing research.
Educational Objectives
To make the young audiences aware of the impact of climate change on marine ecosystems and resources.
To bring the pupils closer to the research community by introducing them to scientific methods and activities.
To allow students to become familiar with the techniques used by the oceanographers in the field.
To stimulate the exchanges between schools and classes accross Europe.
