EUR-OCEANS is a network of excellence with a membership of nearly 500 researchers. The goal of this network, co-funded by the European Union, is to bring together scientists who study the impact of climate change and human activities on marine ecosystems.
A network of European aquariums has also been created to help educate the general public on this subject and on the ongoing research.

Educational Objectives
  • To make the young audiences aware of the impact of climate change on marine ecosystems and resources.
  • To bring the pupils closer to the research community by introducing them to scientific methods and activities.
  • To allow students to become familiar with the techniques used by the oceanographers in the field.
  • To stimulate the exchanges between schools and classes accross Europe.
